Analog Design Engineer

The Role

Reporting to Syed Alam, the Director Design and based in our Austin, Texas location. Working with our Design team, s/he will work on innovative memory products.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Work with analog team members for understanding memory array bias requirements and developing bias architecture

  • Hands-on work and ownership of multiple analog circuit building blocks, such as charge pumps, bandgaps, op-amps, voltage regulators, IO drivers & receivers, oscillators, power supply detectors, and current distribution networks

  • Drive low power, low noise design techniques, and high precision bias techniques in presence of device mismatch and process variation

  • Work with product and test engineers for test plans and reviewing lab test results to drive bug fixes and yield improvements

  • Run analog design verification flows (e.g. spice, fast-spice, electromigration, IR drop, aging, etc.) to verify a design is ready for tape-out

  • Document design simulation and verification for formal design reviews

  • Support layout designers and drive final layout through post-layout and top-level simulations to validate top-level integration.

Qualifications & competencies

  • MS or higher degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in analog circuit design with a proven track record of bias circuits/system design in production silicon

  • Deep understanding of transistor operation, device physics, and analog design techniques

  • Strong circuit analysis skills (e.g., AC/DC/Transient circuit analysis, small signal circuit techniques, feedback compensation, statistics, etc.)

  • Knowledge of memory interface protocols, such as SPI and DDR, and Cadence tools preferred but not required.

  • Must have strong communication skills and be a team player

Digital Design Engineer

Reporting to the Director Design will be a Digital Design Engineer.

The Role

Reporting to Syed Alam, the Director Design and based in our Austin, Texas location. Working with our Design team, s/he will work on innovative memory products.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • RTL design from taking product specification to defining micro-architecture, block specification, and developing IP.

  • Hands-on work and drive various phases of RTL2GDS flow including synthesis, logic equivalency, and timing constraint development

  • Interact with Place and Route, Static Timing Analysis to drive best implementation for floor planning, clock tree design, timing closure, and low power

  • Work with verification for coverage improvement and design debug

  • Knowledge of memory interface protocols, such as SPI and DDR

Qualifications & competencies

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital design preferred. Skilled in all major steps in RTL2GDS flow. Good understanding of verification.

  • Proficient in scripting languages, e.g. Tcl and Python

Memory Design Engineer

The Role

  • Explore and develop memory array architecture options. Optimize for IDD, area, and speed.

  • Hands-on work and own various circuitry, such as, sense amplifiers, write drivers, address buffers, decoders, and control circuitry. Supervise layout for mixed signal analog layout best practices to achieve compact area.

  • Interact with Device engineering for bitcell design and new read/write circuit concepts.

  • Work with product and test engineers for test plan and reviewing lab test results to drive bug fixes and yield improvement

  • Run design verification flows (e.g., fast-spice, electromigration, IR drop, aging etc) to verify design is ready for tape-out

  • Document design simulation and verification towards formal design reviews. Support layout designers and drive final layout through post-layout and top-level simulations to validate top-level integration

Qualifications & competencies

  • MS or higher degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in any memory circuit design, such as SRAM, Flash, or MRAM, preferred. Proven track record of working Silicon in production.

  • Deep understanding of transistor operation, device physics, mixed-signal design techniques and trade-offs as applied to memory and mixed-signal IC design.

  • Knowledge of memory interface protocols, such as SPI and DDR

  • Strong communication skill and a team player
